Prior to joining Tunnell, he held a variety of positions at Amgen including executive level roles in Quality, Manufacturing and Operational Excellence. At Amgen he helped streamline operations at multiple sites, deployed improvement methodologies like Lean manufacturing, and through training programs helped create a culture of excellence. Previously, he redesigned and improved the performance of multiple fabrication plants at Phillips Semiconductors. Majid Mehtali, PhD

Majid Mehtali is since 2003 the Chief Scientific Officer and General Manager of Vivalis. He is a graduate of the European School of biotechnology in Strasbourg and received his PhD at the University of Strasbourg, France.
He started his career in 1984 at RHONE-MERIEUX (currently MERIAL) in Lyon . He then joined TRANSGENE SA (France) as Head of the Virology-Immunology Department (1988-1993) and Head of Gene Therapy Research (1993-1999). From 1999 to 2001, Dr Mehtali worked for the Dutch biotechnology company CRUCELL as Vice-President Research.
From 2001 to 2003, Dr. Mehtali has been Chief Scientific Officer and General Manager at DELTAGEN-EUROPE, the European subsidiary of DELTAGEN Inc., a US-based functional genomic and drug discovery company. |

Hans-Peter received his Ph.D. in Molecular and Cell Biology at the Albert-Ludwigs University of Freiburg, Germany, working in conjunction wh the University Clinic and the Max-Planck Institute of Immunology. During 1994/5 he was Post Doc at the Max Planck Institute of Immunology, Freiburg, focused on the characterization of primary human monocytes and macrophages. Hans-Peter joined Novartis AG / Biotechnology Development in 1995 as a lab head in cell and molecular biology.
As he was responsible for the development of cell lines, cell banking and molecular biological analytics, he was involved in the registration procedures for biopharmaceuticals. From 1999 to 2005 he served as a group head in “Cell and Molecular Biology”, where he was responsible for the development of expression vectors and production cell lines and all cGMP related aspects. During 2005 to 2006 he served as a head of “Protein Expression Technologies”, focused on the evaluation and developmentuticals. |

Both companies, Merckle Biotec and BioGenerix, are members of the ratiopharm group devoted to the development and market supply of biopharmaceuticals.He started his carrier in 1985 at the former Dr. Karl Thomae GmbH, a subsidiary of Boehringer Ingelheim.
The years 1985 - 1996 were marked by the rapid growth of biopharmaceuticals and the first FDA approval of a biotech multipurpose plantDr. Allgaier is a member of the board of the International Association for Pharmaceutical Technology (APV, Mainz, Germany) and has made numerous presentations and publications in the area of biopharmaceutical development, manufacturing, compliance and business. |
