22/July/2009 MKCF Meet With President Koroma. At a special meeting with President Ernest Bai Koroma on Wednesday 22nd July, 09 at State House. An high powered MKCF delegation headed by chairman KGC, Mohamed Kallon met with President Koroma to talk about the foundation’s work and challenges ahead. Addressing the president, Mohamed Kallon gave a brief background about his difficult childhood and how hard it was for him to grow up in the streets of Freetown. He outlined the main priorities of MKCF, saying they also have plans to enter into other areas to empower youth employment such as agriculture and tradesmen skilled enterprise. Director MKCF, John Konteh said MKCF are honored to meet the president and said their main aim is to better the lives of disadvantaged children in the streets. Reacting , President Koroma said he was moved and said Mohamed Kallon’s initiative was in line with his call for private citizens to contribute to the nation’s development, and government cannot do everything for everyone.     President Koroma praised Kallon saying that others would have preferred to rest assess but Mohamed decided to come back home and do all what he’s doing. “That shows you have a positive desire for your country,” said President Koroma. He assured MKCF that he will always be at their disposal any time his help is needed.
