Samuel and John Marco’s works bring to view a unique class of sculpture that emerges from charcoal drawings. The images revealed are of realistic depths and projections seldom seen.
Using carefully selected pieces of dried and cured wood; each piece is highly sanded and polished to a natural gloss finish in mediums such as Iroko, Walnut, Teak and Yemani woods.
The works featured reflects the sculptor’s impressions of the African continent, its traditions and culture. These include captured moments of men and women’s daily chores, wild life events, carved household furniture and other historical artifacts. |
